SECURITY REFUND RULES, 2011

 

TITLE

 

  1. These Rules may be called the Virtual University of Pakistan, Security Refund Rule, 2011.  

 

COMMENCEMENT

 

  1. These Rules shall come into force from spring' 2011.

 

  1. DEFINITIONS

 

a)     "Semester" means a period of six (06) months each in an academic year.

b)     "Dues" means the amount payable by the student for the semester in which the student is enrolled.

(c)  "University "means the Virtual University of Pakistan

 

All other expressions and terms used in these rules shall have the same meanings as are assigned to them under Section 2 of the Virtual University of Pakistan Ordinance, 2002

 

 

PASS OUT CASES

 

  1. Full security will be refunded to a university student who has no outstanding dues upon pass out.

 

  1. For a university student who has outstanding dues:

a.      Security will be refunded after adjusting the outstanding dues, if outstanding dues are less then security refundable.

b.      No security will be refunded if outstanding dues are more than security refundable.

 

  1. No degree/transcript will be issued without clearing the payable dues.

 

 

WITHDRAWN CASES

 

  1. For a university student who has enrolled in the current semester and subsequently apply for cancellation of admission, full security will be refunded subject to:

 

    1. All dues of the current semester has been paid;

 

    1. No outstanding dues for the preceding enrolled semester(s). If any dues are outstanding:

 

                                                        i.      Security will be refunded after adjusting the outstanding dues, if outstanding dues are less than security refundable;

                                                      ii.      No security will be refunded if outstanding dues are more than security refundable.

 

 

  1. For a university student who has not enrolled in the current semester and apply for cancellation of admission, full security will be refunded subject to:

 

    1. All dues of the preceding enrolled semester(s) have been paid. If any dues are outstanding:

 

                                                        i.      Security will be refunded after adjusting the outstanding dues, if outstanding dues are less than security refundable;

                                                      ii.      No security will be refunded if outstanding dues are more than security refundable.

 

  1. For students who enrolled before 2011, security will be refunded according to these rules but fee for the period in which a student has no academic activity will not be considered as payable fee.

 

  1. No security will be refunded in any case if a student applies for cancellation of admission after two consecutive un-attended semesters from the last enrolled semester.

 

  1. Partial transcript will be issued if needed once all the dues are cleared.

 

 

 

ACT OF INDISCIPLINE AND MISCONDUCT

 

  1.  Security of such students    will be forfeited who have been notified for rustication and or expulsion on disciplinary grounds or production of fake documents.
