Your objection is good and we should be careful in saying salam.

However, I would object on your comment that SALAM means LANAT. Sorry dear you are wrong here. SALAM is one of the holy names of Allah Kareem and it means Salamti Denay Wala. However, this name only is not sufficient to salute someone. We should say same words as taught by our Holy Prophet Mohammed S.A.W and as practiced by Holy Sahab RAA.

Hope you too don't mind (just like Sumaya didn't mind).
